Sometimes, you just have to give into a craving. It’ll keep you sane– just see my Non-Diet Diet!
For me, more times that not, my cravings are for chocolate chip cookies. Not just any chocolate chip cookies, but the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Loads of chocolate, warm and gooey, and totally satisfying. I’ve tested loads of recipes, but I’ve never had better results than with this one!
You’re gonna need:
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
Dash of salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp molasses
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 bag high quality milk chocolate chips (I like Ghirardelli)
I’m aiming to make this recipe as simple as possible. I like minimal dishes, minimal work, and maximum amounts of cookie dough taste-testing.
First off, pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Grab a big bowl, and add your butter. If it is at all chilled, pop it in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Add your sugar and molasses, and stir thoroughly. Then add your egg and your vanilla, and stir well. Now throw in your salt and baking soda– be sure to really incorporate them thoroughly.
Add your flour, and mix until your batter is looking pretty darn perfect. Finally, pour in those chocolate chips. I don’t care if it seems like it is way too much chocolate, just trust me on this.
Your dough should look like this!
Form the dough into small balls. Don’t make the mistake of making them too big!
Now, throw ‘em in the oven. Each is different so you want to keep a close eye (nothing more disappointing than burned cookies), but mine usually take about 8 minutes.
They should come out gorgeous and delicious, looking something like this!
Happy Cheat Day!
